Food & Wine’s Empire Builders of 2012

In this month’s Food & Wine Magazine, Chef Thomas McNaughton, Executive Chef of flour + water, central kitchen and salumeria was featured in the ‘Empire Builders 2012′ article. The feature highlighted some of the country’s best food entrepreneurs and chefs based on each candidate’s incredible and impressive culinary range, including Thomas, and noted that he was selected because of his outstanding pizza and pasta, as well as for his “elevated Cal-Med” cooking and incredible sandwiches.  The piece then focused on each restaurant individually, and stated that Flour + Water  is best known for its pasta and pizza, Central Kitchen for Thomas’ hearth-baked dishes, and Salumeria for selling the house-made charcuterie and cheeses that are served at the other restaurants.
